I'm On To Your Plot

Donovan here. Perhaps you've noticed a trend of late on the DeWitt Boys Blog. I'm not sure what's going on... but I think I may be a pawn in a very mysterious game.

First, I noticed I was being dressed up in odd outfits... or having my hair teased in some strange way.

Then something even stranger happened; I'll call it "Before and After." I'd be enjoying an activity, sometimes alone and sometimes with my brother. Then, out of the blue, something happens and I end up getting doused in the face with a cup of water.

At first, I thought these were harmless, random occurrences. But then, one day, we were outside playing on the swingset. And Dad, who thinks he's kinda funny, had Jackson push me in the swing. It was fun, I'll admit. He took a few pictures and all seemed well...

And then, he took me out of the swing and tried to lay me on the ground. He was chuckling... or maybe it was a snicker. Yeah, now that I think of it, it was a snicker, an evil, diabolical snicker. He told Jackson to stand behind the swing and put his hands over his eyes, like he'd just "accidentally" pushed me out... Then, when his digital camera battery died, he got all disappointed, like he wouldn't be able to finish whatever mission had entered his devious mind.

Which got me to thinking that maybe, just maybe, some of this stuff is all part of some giant plan to make me look like a goofball. Am I losing it? Should I be paranoid like this at the age of one?

So here's a warning to all you relatives out there: I'm going to keep my eyes on you. I will not be made the fool. No, sir. Not me.

Dear Donovan, I am sorry to tell you this, but when you have an older brother to throw water on you and push you in the swing, you will always feel there is a plot to do you in. Just wait until you start to walk. You will be pushed down on your way to dinner, and be blamed for things your brother did. You will wear his clothing, and grow into his spiderman pajamas. Your role as a second child is a precarious and challenging one. Be ready for anything! Grandma C.
